I developed this site to share and explore more information about my family history, genealogy and culture. I am a second-generation Italian American born in the Ybor City district of Tampa, Florida.  My family emigrated to the United States at the turn of the century from the Italian Province of Agrigento Sicily. They all ended up in Ybor City, Tampa’s “Latin Quarter”. In 2015 I retired from the City of Tampa as Manager of the Ybor City Development Corporation. Prior to the City of Tampa, I was employed by Hillsborough County government where I directed several human service departments. I currently own and operate Pardo Wine Grapes, Inc. (www.pardowinegrapes.com). I graduated from Brandon High School (1965) and the University of South Florida (1970) where I continued with post graduate work in Public Administration. My interests are winemaking, cooking, genealogy and traveling with my Fiancé’ Doreen Greco. 

All my grandparents and great grandparents emigrated to Tampa, Florida between 1894 and 1904 from towns in the Italian Province of Agrigento Sicily. I am researching family history about the Pardo, Marchetta and Cacciatore families from Alessandria della Rocca, the LoCicero family from Santo Stefano Quisquina, the Diecidue and Arcuri families from Cianciana and the Gullo family from Cammarata. I would love to communicate with anyone that has information about these family names and their histories.

The art of wine making is older than Italy itself. My family was making wine in Italy and continued the practice when they arrived in Tampa. My winemaking began in the 1970’s with my great uncle Tony (Zio Nino) Diecidue.
